CHARACTERISTICS:

• Name from shape and texture of the leaves.
• Trunk has green crown shaft, a dark medium grey color on bottom, almost white at the top.
• Single, double and triple trunks.
• Bares seeds, red when ripe, up to 2” long.
• Sensitive to cold weather, but not tender like Adonedia Palm.
• Need to be covered, when there is a frost.
• Established trees tolerate light frost with temperatures down to about 27˚ F, without significant damage.
