How often should I water my Florida tropical plants?

All plants have some preference to whether or not they like a lot of water or maybe not so much.  In general, if you are using a irrigation system in normal conditions it is usually recommended to water about 3 times a week.

More important than the amount of times a week though, is the duration of the watering cycle.  It is best to run each zone for a minimal of 20 minutes considering normal conditions and non-drought tolerant plants are present.  It is important the water reaches to the bottom of the roots of the plants and doesn’t get absorbed on the surface only.
